To qualify, a person must be a British subject, aged over 18 years old and an elector, must reside in, or within 3 miles of, the Tickton Parish boundary or occupy as owner or tenant any land or premises therein, or have their principal or only place of work there, and must not be disqualified from holding office as a Councillor.
If you require further information, please contact the Clerk to the Council.
BEING A PARISH COUNCILLOR can be a very rewarding and interesting experience and helps you to give something back to the community you live in. If you are passionate about our community and want to help make long-lasting change, have innovative ideas for the council, or have concerns about a specific issue which you want to do something about then we want to hear from you.
Requirements for councillors are having a passion for our area, having an opinion, attendance at Parish Council meetings, and a willingness to attend training to fully understand the role. Training courses are short and infrequent, but they allow councillors and the community to get the most out of the role.
